Dr. Pederson has specialized training and experience with minimally-invasive approaches to melanoma and breast cancer called lymphatic mapping and sentinel lymph node biopsy. He is credentialed to place the Mammosite® catheter for accelerated partial breast radiation therapy to treat breast cancer. Dr. Pederson also has advanced training and expertise with gastrointestinal tumors and endocrine surgery, including thyroidectomy and minimally invasive parathyroidectomy. He is a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology and the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons. Dr. Pederson performs surgery at Novant Health and Atrium Health facilities.
